Home buyers, states, and governments have all begun to push harder and harder for environmentalism, sustainability, and renewability; particularly in housing where nearly 40% of electricity is used. There are a large number of tools, methods, and strategies that can be used to meet this demand for sustainability, and many scholars believe that the most important step is ensuring real estate professionals can convey the benefits and importance of sustainability in housing.
This course will describe why “going Green” matters, the different kinds of green certification labels, what a green label can do for a home, the basic descriptions and benefits of a handful of green improvements, what the costs and benefits of green certified housing are, and what resources both the licensee and their customers can use to dive deeper into the world of sustainable housing and real estate.
This course contains approximately 2 hours of reading material. The course is divided into three segments. Review quizzes are at the end of each segment.
A final examination is required at the end of the course. The final examination consists of 15 questions. A test score of 75% or greater is required for course completion. The final examination is not downloadable or printable.
