This online prelicense course fulfills the 45-hour California Real Estate Principles education requirement necessary for obtaining a real estate salesperson license.

Future real estate agents need to have a general knowledge of the various legal descriptions. This course aims to break down complex real estate regulations into clear terms to help licensees succeed in the real estate industry. This course covers various topics such as legal descriptions, real estate titles, government rights to property, contract law, and encumbrances placed on real property. Students will also explore real estate financing, covering topics such as how mortgages and trust deeds are structured, how a buyer can obtain a loan to finance their real property purchase, and the steps a property appraiser takes to evaluate a property's value. After completing this course, students will have a better understanding of California legal concepts and be able to work effectively with clients throughout the buying or selling process.
As a part of the California real estate license requirements, the completion of the study and mastery of the following eighteen topics is required.
At the end of each chapter, a short review exercises will test your comprehension of the presented material. At the end of the course there is a final online examination of multiple choice questions. Successful passage of the final examination requires a score of 75% or better.

The final exam has a time limit of 3 hours, after which the exam is automatically graded. Any unanswered questions at the end of the final exam will be marked as incorrect. Students that do not pass the final exam may attempt the final exam a second time. Students who fail the final exam twice must start the course over from the beginning.
The DRE limits students taking final exams for pre-license courses to one completed exam per 17-1/2 day period.
