Course Description

As a part of its real estate broker prelicense requirements, the Washington Department of Licensing (DOL) requires the completion of 90 hours of real estate study in two courses: a 60-hour Washington Real Estate Fundamentals course and a 30-hour Washington Real Estate Practices course. 

This course contains the 60 hours of education needed to meet the Real Estate Fundamentals requirement. The topics included in this course are:

    4. Transfer of Title to Real Property

The course topics are divided into modules and chapters. At the end of each chapter is a short quiz to test your comprehension of the chapter's topics. At the end of each module is a study guide that summarizes the important points from each chapter in the module as well as an optional study test to help you retain the information presented in the module.

At the end of the 60-hour course is a final exam in multiple-choice format with a passing score of 70%. Students are allowed to attempt the final exam as many times as necessary to meet the minimum passing score. Each attempt at the final exam will contain a different set of test questions than the prior attempt.

The Washington Department of Licensing requires that students meet the minimum 60 hours of study time before accessing the final exam. 

The course contains reading material, short videos, and quizzes. Students must complete all course materials before the student's course completion information will be sent to the DOL's licensing exam provider.

Course Instructors

Upon registering for the prelicense course you will be assigned a primary instructor. This instructor will assist you with regard to any questions regarding course content. You are encouraged to contact your instructor whenever you feel contact will be helpful.

The OnlineEd office is available for students who are having technical issues or need to purchase a course extension. The student services office may be contacted at 1-866-519-9597 Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, excluding holidays. After-hours email support is also available at mail@onlineed.com. All questions regarding course content must be directed to the course instructor, as the OnlineEd office telephone support staff are not authorized by the DOL to instruct the course.

Equipment

The OnlineEd course is presented via the Internet. The only thing you need to complete the course is a web browser and an Internet connection.

All of the course material and tests must be completed online. 

Enrollment Period

You will have 365 days from the time of initial course registration to complete the course material, chapter review exercises, and pass the course final examination. If not completed with 365 days, the course will expire and students will be denied further access to the course materials. Extensions are available for a fee.

Course Prerequisites

There are no education prerequisites required. However, you are advised to contact the Washington Department of Licensing to determine whether you will be eligible to sit for the Washington Real Estate Salesperson examination. There are age and other requirements that must be met. OnlineEd is a course provider and makes no determination as you your ability to obtain a real estate license. The licensing process is between you and the Washington Department of Licensing.

How to obtain a real estate license in Washington

To be licensed as a real estate salesperson, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Register with Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP), the real estate licensing exam provider for the Washington Department of Licensing.
  • Complete a 60 clock-hour course in real estate fundamentals and a 30 clock-hour course in real estate practice. Clock hours must be completed within 2 years prior to applying for the Washington broker license examination. 
  • Schedule the licensing exam with AMP. When going to take the exam, bring two pieces of identification, one of which must include your photograph. After passing the broker licensing exam, candidates will receive a fingerprint card that must be completed by a third-party fingerprinting service.
  • Complete and submit the real estate broker application and the fingerprint card with the appropriate fee.

Course Description

Washington Real Estate License Exam Prep

This course is a study guide to help you pass the Washington real estate licensing exam. It is not required educational credit towards your course completion, but it will assist you with enforcing the topics covered in the prelicense course. 

This licensing exam prep course covers the following topics:

  • Washington Laws and Regulations
  • National Practice Tests
  • Washington State-level Practice Tests
  • Washington License Exam Sample Test

Each chapter contains the important points that you should know, followed by a chapter of study exams. You can retake the exams for additional practice. At the end of the exam prep course is a practice licensing exam that simulates the Washington real estate broker licensing exam of 130 random questions in 3.5 hours, which can be attempted as many times as you'd like. 

Course providers are NOT allowed to know the exact questions examinees will see on their actual licensing exam. This study course is to help applicants become familiar with all aspects of the real estate industry before registering to take the state licensing exam.
