This package provides existing salespersons with 5 additional pre-license courses necessary to obtain a California Real Estate Broker license. Students must have previously completed the 3 courses required for a salesperson license.
The California Department of Real Estate (DRE) require salespersons who desire to upgrade their real estate license to the broker status to be at least 18 years old, be honest and truthful, have a minimum of two years of licensed California salesperson experience, and successfully complete eight 45-hour real estate education courses. Three of the eight courses (Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Practice, and Legal Aspects of Real Estate) may have been completed as part of the initial salesperson licensing requirements.
This course package is a compilation of the remaining five qualifying courses that are required for a real estate broker license in California:
California Property Management (45 hours) - This course is an outline of property management regulations, both residential and commercial. This course goes over lease agreements, risk management and security, record keeping requirements, and tenant relations.
California Real Estate Appraisal Principles and Procedures (45 hours) - Buyers only want to pay as much as a property appraises for, so this course explains how an independent house appraiser comes to the conclusion of a property's value. This course will explain the appraisal process, the three methods for determining value, and the final appraisal report.
California Real Estate Economics (45 hours) - There are many economic factors that have an influence on a local real estate market. This course explains the local, state, and national economic principles in relation to real estate in urban and rural areas.
California Real Estate Finance and Loan Brokering (45 hours) - Most buyers will need to finance the purchase of real estate, rather than paying all cash for a property. This course outlines the various loan markets available, how a buyer qualifies for a mortgage loan, and the various loan programs available.
Introduction to California Escrow (45 hours) - This course will go describe the escrow process using sample transactions and escrow forms.
These California real estate broker pre-license training courses are approved as California real estate correspondence courses. You will receive a texbook in the mail for each course, with all quizzes and final exams to be completed online. You will not be mailed a paper final exam.
If you have NOT yet completed the required broker licensing course, Legal Aspects of Real Estate, please contact us at 1-866-519-9597 to have it added to your account.
